W. Buchanan
Bob began his nonprofit management and
fund raising career while a professor at Ottawa University. As assistant
dean he developed and marketed a non-traditional adult education program
in Kansas City and began working with alumni in fund development. He
became Director of University Relations and coordinated the fund
development and public relations programs for the university.
He established Buchanan & Henry Fund
Raising Counsel and spent eight years providing consulting services to
such clients as the Salvation Army, Little Sisters of the Poor,
Harvesters, UMKC, Friendship House, Rose Brooks Center, the Association
of Independent Hospitals and Associated Youth Services. He has conducted
feasibility studies, managed capital campaigns, provided fund raising
audits and presented many board and staff training seminars.
Currently Bob provides fund development
consulting to a variety of clients across the Midwest. He is also a UMKC
adjunct professor and a Senior Fellow of the Midwest Center for
Nonprofit Leadership. |
