The web site for the Native American Tax Policy Project is intended to provide a forum for issues relating to the taxation of American Indians. The primary goal of the NATPP is to provide information regarding the imposition of taxes on American Indians at the federal, state, and local levels.  

The Internal Revenue Service's Office of Indian Tribal Governments now has a newsletter available, Indian Tribal Government News.  A different newsletter is available for different regions.  Publication 4267 is the Eastern Region Edition, 4267A is the Alaska Edition, 4267B is Oklahoma, 4267C is Great Lakes, 4267D is Great Plains, 4267E is Pacific Northwest, 4267F is Southwest, and 4267G is the Western Region Edition.  The newsletter is available at www.irs.gov/govt/tribes/index.html.  Go to "ITG Newsletters" listed in the right-hand column under "Tax Information for Indian Tribal Governments" or click on "Publications" on the home page of the IRS website and scroll down the list of publications until you reach Publication 4267.  You may place your name and/or email address on the newsletter mailing list for your region by sending an email or phoning the contact person listed on the newsletter.
